A Seussified Christmas Carol
A Seussifed Christmas Carol
|
|
Now ghost, Past ghost, then comes Last ghost! Dr. Seuss never had the opportunity to collaborate with Charles Dickens, so Mr. Bloedel was forced to author this whimsical reinvention of the beloved Christmas classic himself. In wacky rhymed couplets depicting zoot fruited juices and binka bird geese, with Bed-Headed Fred and Timmy Loo Hoo, this tale of glorphonious holiday cheer is sure to delight fans of either (or both) of these famous writers. And if a swarm of annoying Hum Bugs isn’t part of the story already, someone should consider writing them in.A Seussified Christmas Carol is not affiliated, endorsed, or sponsored by Dr. Seuss Enterprises. |

Baby Bear and the Big, Bad Wolf
|
Baby Bear and the Big, Bad Wolfby CHET FRAME and JAN H. WOLFE September 08-16, 2012
|
As we venture into the enchanted forest, we find that some of our favorite fairy tale characters are quickly finding that life is not always sunshine and ice cream in the world of fantasy. With luck and effort, however, they may learn to recognize evil and work together to overcome it. Thus, Baby Bear is given the chance to become a hero, after joining forces with Hansel and Gretel and the Three Little Pigs, by confronting and defeating the ever-hungry Big Bad Wolf and the eternally-wicked Wicked Witch, in this modern-day mash-up (in a good way) of some of our beloved bedtime stories.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
By Barbara Robinson |
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
|
In this hilarious holiday story, the two directors of the Christmas pageant at the local church are struggling with all the little complications of this annual production. But, this year, they have a new, and much bigger problem—finding parts in the pageant for the horrible Herdman kids—possibly the most creatively maniacal and totally dreadful group of siblings in history. These kids are a pack of lying, stealing, cussing, cigar smoking terrors…the boys, too! The last place anyone expected to see them was in church. But you will want to see them. And you won’t want to miss the mayhem—and the fun!—for there will be no silent night when the uncontrollable, unholy Herdmans drop like a ton of yule logs on the once peaceful story of Christmas!

Meet B. Rutherford Rodent, the Mayor of the Mice in the town of Hamelin, for he has a musical tale to tell. The people of Hamelin are desperate. The cheese in town has been slowly disappearing. This might not seem so important, until we hear that their famous cheese is Hamelin’s main export and source of income. Losing it will mean bankruptcy for the entire town! In this fanciful musical adaptation of The Pied Piper, the people of Hamelin, with the help of their neighbors in Bremen, must capitalize on their strengths and overcome their weaknesses to solve the mystery, recover the cheese and save the town. We guarantee you won’t leave the theatre feeling bleu.

THE MUSIC MAN follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.
The cast features a soaring soprano ingйnue, parts for young performers and children, and one of the musical theatre’s treasures, a tour de force leading role for a charismatic actor. By turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic and touching, THE MUSIC MAN is family entertainment at its best. Classic musical numbers include Till There Was You; Seventy-Six Trombones; Ya Got Trouble; Gary, Indiana; Pick a Little; Shipoopi and Goodnight My Someone. |

A Flea in Her Ear
By: Georges Feydeau |
March 16 – April 1, 2012Produced By: AJ Meeker and Matt Carlsen Directed by: Eric Walby |
|
A Flea in Her Ear:
The works of Georges Feydeau, the father of modern farce, have influenced the plots of countless plays, films and TV shows. In this French comedy, artfully combining bedroom farce with comedy of manners, Raymonde, suspects her husband, Victor Emmanuel, of infidelity. With the help of her best friend, Lucienne, she concocts a plan involving a perfumed letter in order to expose Victor’s dalliance at the Hotel Coq d’Or and confirm her suspicions. In exquisite Feydeau fashion, the plan misfires monumentally. Additional convolutions include confused identities, revolving beds, a multitude of doors and the fact that the none-to-bright hotel porter, Poche, is an exact double of Victor. The barrage of hilarity and romantic turmoil continues non-stop until the final curtain. |
