A failure as a nun, Maria is sent from the convent in answer to a letter from a retired naval captain seeking a governess for his seven children. It turns out Maria is the latest in a long line of governesses, all previous aspirants having been defeated by ingenious pranks from the children. This heart-warming musical set in Austria during World War II features many a classic tune like “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss” and “Climb Every Mountain.”
