A young girl in a quiet Alabama town in the 1930s is about to experience the dramatic events that will affect the rest of her life. Sout and her brother Jem are being raised by their widower father Atticus Finch, a lawyer, and their strong-minded housekeeper, Calpurnica. There’s a rumble of thunder just under the calm surface of the live here, especially when Atticus agrees to defend a young black man who is accused of raping a white woman. Based on Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize wining novel of 1960, Gerogory Peck won both and Oscar and a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Atticus Funch in the 1962 film adaptation. |
