Baby Bear and the Big, Bad Wolfby CHET FRAME and JAN H. WOLFE September 08-16, 2012
|
As we venture into the enchanted forest, we find that some of our favorite fairy tale characters are quickly finding that life is not always sunshine and ice cream in the world of fantasy. With luck and effort, however, they may learn to recognize evil and work together to overcome it. Thus, Baby Bear is given the chance to become a hero, after joining forces with Hansel and Gretel and the Three Little Pigs, by confronting and defeating the ever-hungry Big Bad Wolf and the eternally-wicked Wicked Witch, in this modern-day mash-up (in a good way) of some of our beloved bedtime stories.

Now ghost, Past ghost, then comes Last ghost! Dr. Seuss never had the opportunity to collaborate with Charles Dickens, so Mr. Bloedel was forced to author this whimsical reinvention of the beloved Christmas classic himself. In wacky rhymed couplets depicting zoot fruited juices and binka bird geese, with Bed-Headed Fred and Timmy Loo Hoo, this tale of glorphonious holiday cheer is sure to delight fans of either (or both) of these famous writers. And if a swarm of annoying Hum Bugs isn’t part of the story already, someone should consider writing them in.A Seussified Christmas Carol is not affiliated, endorsed, or sponsored by Dr. Seuss Enterprises. |

When the Wicked Queen asks the audience, “Don’t you think I’m beautiful?” and her magical Mirror (who must always tell the truth) replies, “Yes, Oh Repulsive and Ravishing Queen.” the tone is firmly set for this delightfully fanciful version of the well-known tale. All the other familiar characters are here, as well: the Dwarfs (all seven), the Huntsman, the Prince and, of course, Snow White. You may have heard it before, but this original retelling will put you under the spell (no poison apple ingestion required) of an enchantingly enjoyable theatrical experience.
